Stitching time (estimate)

≈ 4–7 hours per design

That's roughly 1–2 weeks at about 5 hours of stitching a week. Just a rough idea: we assume an average of 100–200 stitches an hour, and everyone stitches at their own pace.

Twenty-five original easy cross stitch patterns for a handmade Advent calendar, one small design for every day from December 1 to December 25, in soft pastel Christmas colors of cream, sky blue, sage, blush and butter with cranberry red, evergreen and gold: Day 1 Star, Day 2 Knit Mitten, Day 3 Candy Cane, Day 4 Jingle Bell, Day 5 Stocking, Day 6 Gingerbread Man, Day 7 Holly Sprig, Day 8 Snowflake, Day 9 Wrapped Present, Day 10 Bauble, Day 11 Candle, Day 12 Snowman, Day 13 Christmas Tree, Day 14 Cocoa Mug, Day 15 Reindeer, Day 16 Wreath, Day 17 Wooden Sled, Day 18 Penguin in a Hat, Day 19 Iced Cookie, Day 20 Angel, Day 21 Toy Drum, Day 22 Pinecone, Day 23 Lantern, Day 24 Santa Hat and Day 25 Snowy Cottage. Each day shows a cute Christmas icon, from a star, a knit mitten, a candy cane, a stocking, a gingerbread man and a wrapped present to a snowman, a Christmas tree, a reindeer, a wreath, a penguin in a hat, an angel, a Santa hat and a snowy cottage, with the day number stitched below on a rounded card or arch. Day 25 has a golden frame.

Stitch one design a day from December 1 to December 25, or stitch all 25 and hang them as a garland, as little ornaments, as gift tags or on a countdown banner for the mantel or the wall. A cozy, quick handmade Christmas project for beginners. Tip: the motifs show best on white, cream, ivory or light linen Aida.
